FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

CAM Locks... Blocks... behind toe kicks?

How Strong: Enough To Hold Granite?

The levelers are a CAM design. As the adjusting rod screws into the unit, it pushes the CAM downward, lifting the cabinet.

Each "foot" holds 350 lbs. Therefore, a single cabinet holds 1,400 lbs! Granite and marble only weigh 18 pounds per square foot, “roughly.”

That means the largest cabinet in any kitchen would be 3' x 2' =6 SF X 18 pounds = 108 pounds, plus the box… roughly 75 lbs, totaling 183 lbs. So, as you can see, the levelers are exceedingly strong. (183 lbs   -vs-   1,400 lbs)

Flooring: Will they sink into or dent flooring?

We get asked this a lot. Short answer... NO.

Divide 183 lbs by 4 Feet = 45.75 lbs per foot. That's nothing. I can do that with my hand.

Fact is... We've been installing the EZs in kitchens since 2009. Never ONE issue with flooring (except maybe on squishy carpet or linoleum)

Corner Cabinets: What I rod is too long? or too short?

If the rod is too long... simply, rotate the EZ-Susan a few degrees in either direction until the tip of the rod is the proper length.

Rotating the EZ-Susan does not change the foot's location at all. You could install it backwards if you had to.

Panels: Why do I need levelers for panels?

Great question. Short answer... Panels are a PAIN to level and fasten simultaneously. (if using shims)

Using the EZ-Levels... We simply hold the panel in place... level it up to our laser line... and then fasten. It STAYS LEVEL the whole time. Super cool!

Flooring: Should I install my flooring first? OR Last? Is there an easier way??? No Trim???

Your choice! Some prefer to floor wall-to-wall, while others prefer to floor after the cabinets are in.

The great thing is that if you are using the EZ-Levels, you can simply raise the cabinets a little extra and then scoot the flooring under the cabinets... making it "look like" you floored wall-to-wall! No more cutting around cabinets! No more ugly trim around cabinets!

Waterproof?

The levelers are made from 100% Galvalume metal, a steel sheet coated with a metallic alloy of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. This coating provides superior strength and corrosion resistance compared to traditional galvanized steel by combining the long-lasting barrier protection of aluminum with the sacrificial, self-healing properties of zinc, which protects against scratches.

Therefore, the levelers are water-resistant but not waterproof, as with any household hammer.
